THE STICKY NOTES

This Violet Crystal Skull Sticky Note Set is part of a neat step into the world of patterns and stationery for me. I was so excited to be able to use pieces of my crystal skull series from the beginning of 2020 as stationery inspiration.

This series got me thinking about the ways that we are sharp, jagged, and glittering all at once. How have we hardened though our lives, with points sharp as a knife’s edge? And on the other hand, how have we smoothed away rough edges to better reflect the light? How do our sharpness and our brilliance interact?

Are you looking to add a little spice to your office life? And by spice, I mean a lollipop macabre spice? Have you ever looked around your cubicle and thought “Needs more bones?”

If you, like me, have looked at other sticky notes and sighed the deepest sigh of regret at yet another memo written on plain yellow paper, then perhaps you need a few more skulls in your life. You may have noticed that skulls are featured prominently in my work. I love to use them as a device to talk about the self laid bare, without any of the social constructs or ego traps that we often bring to our identity.
