Revenant – 16x20 Watercolor Skull Limited-Edition Print

A watercolor painting of a large skull in glazed cool tones tones. The eye sockets glow vividly green and yellow, fading into more violet tones in the teeth and the darker side of the skull on the right. The skull is missing the lower jaw and several teeth.

THE ART

This piece comes off as simple, but the original watercolor piece is a full sheet of paper, so 22” x 30”, and I had a number of things running through my head while I painted it:

·         What are the things that haunt us?

·         Green is a color used to describe nature and the natural world, and it’s also often used to show evil/foul magic in many pieces of media.

·         How do we view the natural world as inherently wild and chaotic, and as something that must be tamed?

·         How do we view the wildness of our bodies as vile, chaotic, and something that needs to be tamed?

This open print is shipped from my studio in a 3” diameter tube. Prints may ship separately from other items in the order so that they do not get damaged. Please allow two weeks for processing and shipping.
